Spain's CNMC fines streamers Ibai Llanos, Jordi Wild and Nachter for undisclosed ads

The Spanish regulator Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC) imposed fines on three of the country's most followed content creators for breaches of the General Law on Audiovisual Communication. Ibai Llanos received a €710 fine (reduced to €568 for early payment) for promoting an alcoholic beverage on X/Twitter without proper disclosure and for broadcasting content unsuitable for minors without age warnings. Jordi Wild was fined €1,543 (reduced to €1,241) for streaming extreme combat videos on YouTube without labeling them as adult content. Nachter was penalised €1,779 (reduced to €1,067) for promoting flu medication without meeting legal advertising requirements for pharmaceuticals.

While the amounts are modest, the penalties have sparked debate over the proportionality of fines relative to influencers' earnings and signal a tightening regulatory stance on hidden advertising and youth protection in livestreaming. The sanctions arrive just before the highly publicised La Velada del Año VI boxing event, heightening concerns for sponsors and platform compliance.
