Spain's CNMC publishes renewable energy data and aid-use guide

The National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC) released its monthly statistics on electricity generation from renewables, cogeneration and waste, covering data up to April 2026. The report was published on 19 June 2026 and details sales figures for the sector.

The CNMC also issued a practical guide (G-2025-01) aimed at improving the design and deployment of public subsidies. The document advises authorities to conduct market studies, ensure aid is necessary, efficient and proportionate, favour competitive procedures, use AI for data quality, and carry out transparent, independent evaluations of outcomes.
