Spain's coastal restaurants unveil new summer tasting menus
The La Fortaleza restaurant, housed in a historic fort overlooking Mallorca’s Serra de Tramuntana, has introduced a 13‑course tasting menu that celebrates traditional Mallorcan dishes with a modern twist. Chef Víctor Garcia works with local producers and the hotel’s own organic farm, Pagos de Porreres, to feature items such as olives, re‑interpreted veal, sobrasada with honey and figs. The menu, available only for dinner and limited to 25 guests per service, is paired with a curated wine selection and includes a vegetarian option sourced from the farm.
In Barcelona, Shôko Barcelona has refreshed its summer menu on the Passeig Marítim de la Barceloneta. The new offering centers on four rice dishes – including black rice with cuttlefish, a seafood rice, a mountain rice with free‑range chicken and vegetables, and a combined sea‑and‑mountain rice – served for two or more diners. The restaurant also adds a variety of oysters, an expanded sushi line, assorted tartares, and main courses such as glazed salmon, grilled sea bass and premium steaks, maintaining its Japanese‑fusion concept beside the sea.
