Spain's Coastal Villages Offer Prime Sunset and Sunrise Spots

A guide highlights several Spanish coastal towns celebrated for their fishing heritage, scenic beaches and ideal views of sunrise or sunset. In Galicia, Ribadeo and Cedeira showcase historic harbours, protected natural areas and traditional architecture. In the north, Fisterra in A Coruña and Cudillero in Asturias are noted for dramatic sunset backdrops over the Atlantic. On the Mediterranean side, Zahara de los Atunes in Cádiz and Peñíscola in Castellón provide striking evening light over long sandy stretches. The Balearic island of Menorca’s Es Castell is singled out as the first point in Spain to greet the sunrise each day.

These locations are presented as attractive summer getaways, offering opportunities to enjoy local seafood, historic sites and panoramic sea views.
