Spain's Consumer Ministry fines Reggaeton Beach Festival €320,000

The Spanish Ministry of Consumer (Ministerio de Consumo) imposed a €320,000 fine on the organizer of the Reggaeton Beach Festival for four serious consumer‑rights violations. The infractions included prohibiting attendees from bringing food or drink into the venue, restricting re‑entry, charging management fees on ticket sales that did not correspond to a service, and limiting refunds for unused cashless‑bracelet balances.

The festival organizer acknowledged responsibility and is now required to correct the abusive clauses, ensure that ticket prices are final and inclusive of all costs, provide access to tap water, and allow refunds without additional charges. The ministry highlighted that such practices mislead consumers and must be eliminated.

The sanction follows a complaint by the consumer association Facua‑Consumidores en Acción and was announced by the ministry under the direction of Pablo Bustinduy.
