Spain's Cultural Youth Bonus sees 300,000 applicants

More than 300,000 young people born in 2008 in Spain have already applied for the 2026 Cultural Youth Bonus (Bono Cultural Joven). This fifth edition of the program, promoted by the Ministry of Culture, provides 400 euros to individuals who turn 18 during the year.

A new feature for this edition allows the funds to be used for more than just cultural consumption; they can now be applied toward purchasing musical instruments, artistic creation materials, and cultural courses.

Applicants can choose between two modalities. One allows the 400 euros to be distributed across live arts, audiovisuals, cultural heritage, physical products like books and vinyl, and digital consumption such as streaming subscriptions. The second modality allows the total amount to be dedicated to a single category, such as cultural workshops and courses.
