Spain's DGT adds new speed radars in Segovia, Albacete and Soria

The Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT) has installed five new speed‑monitoring devices across three Spanish provinces. A fixed radar was placed on the CL‑101 in Soria, while two bidirectional cinemometers were set up on the N‑110 between km 158.7 and 161.3 in Segovia and on the CM‑412 between km 202.5 and 208.15 in Albacete. The remaining devices include an additional fixed unit in Soria and a further bidirectional unit in Segovia, bringing the total active DGT radars to 3,626.

All devices are operating in a one‑month pre‑notice period during August. Drivers exceeding speed limits receive only an informational letter; monetary fines and point penalties begin in September, ranging from €100 to €600 and up to six licence points. The deployment coincides with a special summer speed‑control campaign running until 9 August, coordinated with European partners to address high traffic volumes and accident‑prone road sections.
