Casa 47 expands affordable rental housing across Spain
The state housing agency Casa 47 opened applications for a total of 401 affordable rental units in the Valencian Community, including 157 apartments in Castellón province with monthly rents from €350 to €1,066. It also launched a separate call for 34 units in Lekunberri, offering rents between €417 and €519 and surface areas of 58‑109 m². In Navarre, the regional housing ministry announced that affordable rentals will be allocated by public lottery starting in September, a measure presented by minister Begoña Alfaro.
In Galicia, the Xunta issued a €9.6 million tender to build 80 shared‑accommodation units for people under 36 in San Paio de Navia, Vigo, with construction slated for 24 months. The same regional government’s housing institute (IGVS) later rejected a proposal to use land in As Raíñas for public housing, stating the parcels are not classified as urban‑consolidated and therefore unsuitable for immediate protected‑housing projects.
All programmes require applicants to have no other owned home, income between two and 7.5 times the IPREM, and will assign the units by lottery before a notary.
