Spanish police dismantle several indoor marijuana farms

Police forces in Spain have carried out a series of raids on illegal indoor cannabis cultivations across the country. In Almería, the Guardia Civil seized more than 1,400 mature plants, 79 LED lights, ventilation equipment and arrested two men – the farm owner and a person found with an unlicensed firearm. In Murcia, the Policía Nacional dismantled three indoor grow‑ops in four homes, confiscating nearly 350 plants and detaining five suspects, while also uncovering illegal power connections that sparked a fire risk. A coordinated operation in the Marina Alta region of Valencia and Alicante, dubbed “Coladsu_25”, resulted in the arrest of four men and the seizure of 265 plants, a short‑barreled weapon and cash after a neighbour reported a strong marijuana odor. In Tenerife, authorities raided two residences and seized 448 plants, 12 kg of cannabis buds, hash resin and two vehicles. In Brenes, a single suspect was arrested after a tip led to the discovery of 748 flowering plants, a semi‑automatic 9 mm pistol and ammunition, together with an illegal electricity hookup. Across the operations, more than 3,200 cannabis plants, dozens of lighting and ventilation units, and several firearms were confiscated, and at least 16 individuals were placed in custody. The raids were prompted by citizen reports and form part of a broader effort to combat illicit drug cultivation and associated crimes such as illegal electricity use and weapons possession.
