Spain's hotel sector expects record summer bookings and price hikes

Spanish hotel chains forecast a strong summer season, with many expecting occupancy rates near 90% and double‑digit price growth. Meliá expects a "high‑single‑digit" price increase, Iberostar projects a 12% rise in sales compared with last year, and Barceló highlights its focus on quality and service. Other operators such as Palladium, RIU and Minor Hotels anticipate modest gains in bookings and revenue per available room, while the state‑run Paradores expects occupancy similar to the previous year, boosted by the solar eclipse interest.

Best Hotels, a leading Spanish chain, announced a major expansion plan. The new Best Village Chipiona resort on the Costa de la Luz adds 420 rooms, and a 5‑star Serenade Caribe Club in Punta Cana will open in July with 835 rooms. Ongoing renovations at Best Oasis Tropical in Mojácar and Best Mojácar aim to improve energy efficiency and guest experience. The company emphasizes sustainability, modernisation and a mix of family‑ and adult‑focused amenities.
