Andalusia adds Tepsa liquid fuel terminal and Coagener battery projects
Tepsa Iberia, a leading independent liquid bulk storage operator, will invest €44.9 million to construct a 50‑year concession terminal at the Port of Huelva. The facility will cover about 50,000 m², include 32 atmospheric storage tanks, and handle liquid fuels, liquefied gases and other decarbonisation‑related commodities, aiming to move a minimum of 270,000 tonnes annually and serve European and trans‑Atlantic energy flows.
Separately, the Junta de Andalucía granted environmental authorisation to Coagener for two 5 MW battery‑storage projects – Teleiro and Beliche – in Los Barrios. Each plant will store up to 20 MWh, providing four‑hour charge‑discharge capability to support the grid during peak demand, and form part of the region’s broader push for renewable‑energy storage and green hydrogen initiatives.
