Spain's June Rural and Hotel Tourism Gains in Castilla y León and Torremolinos

In June 2026, Castilla y León remained the second‑most popular rural tourism destination in Spain, recording 151,644 overnight stays—up 2.65% from June 2025—while the national rural market fell 0.3%. The region hosted 76,809 travelers (64,233 domestic, 12,575 foreign) with an average stay of 1.97 nights. Rural tourism employment stayed the highest in the country with 5,048 jobs, and occupancy rates reached 15.98% for places and 20.35% for rooms.

Meanwhile, the coastal city of Torremolinos led Andalusia in hotel overnight stays, tallying 572,675—surpassing Sevilla’s 537,669. National visitors rose 28.2% YoY to 38,622, and total arrivals increased 11.8% to 121,674. Average hotel stay length was 4.71 days, and hotel occupancy hit 79.39%. Hotel employment grew to 3,737 staff, a rise of 132 jobs. In the first half of the year, Torremolinos recorded 554,432 travelers, 6.7% more than the previous year, with a projected hotel occupancy of around 95% for July‑August.
