Spain's logistics workers and Ibex firms confront wage and bargaining challenges

Logistics operators in Sevilla have received a new collective bargaining proposal from UNO, the Spanish Logistics and Transport Business Organization. The draft covers a five‑year agreement (2026‑2030) that includes a 4% salary increase in 2026 followed by 3% annual hikes, a wage‑guarantee clause linked to the CPI and a progressive bonus rising from €36 per month in 2026 to €140 in 2030. Union CCOO says the offer remains insufficient, while the patronal stresses it represents a significant improvement amid a difficult economic context.

A CCOO and Fundación Primero de Mayo study shows that in 2024 the top executives of Ibex 35 companies earned 74.5 times the average employee salary, a slight rise from the previous year but far below the 125‑fold gap recorded in 2017. Average employee remuneration was €63,372, while total executive compensation reached €160.5 million, a 7.6% increase. The widest gaps were recorded at Inditex (295.1×), Banco Santander (225.8×) and Puig (216.6×).
