Spain's Navas del Rey fire forces live TV reporter to evacuate

A wildfire in Navas del Rey, part of the region affected by the recent fires in Madrid and Ávila, prompted a live broadcast interruption on the RTVE program "Directo al grano." Reporter Tania Garralda was on‑air when smoke, ash and visible flames surrounded her, making it impossible to speak or see clearly. Presenter Gonzalo Miró instructed her to leave the dangerous area, ending the live feed to ensure her safety.

The incident echoed a previous risky live report from the "Malas lenguas" program during the Grazalema floods, highlighting the hazards journalists can face in extreme weather events. Emergency crews were evacuating the vicinity as the fire continued to spread.

The broadcast team emphasized that wind can cause fires to change direction rapidly, turning previously safe locations into hazardous ones within seconds.
