Spain's players dominate World Cup 2026 statistical leaders

At the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Spain's squad posted top figures in several categories. Goalkeeper Unai Simón and defenders Pau Cubarsí, Aymeric Laporte and left‑back Marc Cucurella each played the full 202 minutes of Spain's first two matches.

Midfielder Rodri covered the greatest distance among Spanish players (22.6 km) and completed the most passes (243). Pedri recorded the highest average speed (7.36 km/h) and led the tournament in ball‑losses caused (29). Lamine Yamal and Pedri also topped the list for crosses (13 each).

Forward Mikel Oyarzabal was Spain's leading scorer with two goals and the most shots (10). He also contributed an assist, alongside Laporte and Dani Olmo. Cubarsí achieved a 99 % pass‑completion rate, the highest for any Spanish player.
