Spain's Pontevedra and Lugo provinces allocate nearly €2 million for road and bridge projects
The Provincial Council of Pontevedra approved close to €960,000 for infrastructure upgrades in the municipalities of As Neves, Covelo, Mos, Salvaterra de Miño, Tomiño and Tui. Funding will be used for road resurfacing, acquisition of a crane truck, a retro‑excavator and a pick‑up, as well as improvements to a wastewater treatment plant and road safety measures.
The Provincial Council of Lugo authorized about €1 million for the design and reconstruction of the Navia de Suarna bridge that collapsed in January, allocating €97,150 for the project and setting an eight‑month execution window. Additional road works in the municipalities of Mondoñedo, Ourol and Láncara received more than €530,000 to rehabilitate provincial routes, improve pavement, drainage and signage.
Both decisions aim to enhance local connectivity, safety and municipal services across the two Galician provinces.
