Spain's PP-Vox regional pacts outline tax cuts and tighter migration controls

The People's Party (PP) and Vox have finalized autonomous coalition agreements in four Spanish regions—Extremadura, Aragón, Castilla y León and Andalusia. The documents, spanning roughly 184 pages, detail about 540 measures covering fiscal policy, housing and migration.

Both parties pledge a reduction in the regional income‑tax rate and increased deductions for families, young workers, the self‑employed and homeowners. PP spokesperson Borja Semper said, "La reconstrucción que España necesita empieza por el bolsillo de los españoles." Vox emphasizes a "prioridad nacional" approach, proposing stricter eligibility for social aid, public housing and a ban on the burka and niqab, as well as measures to curb unaccompanied migrant minors and limit NGO involvement in immigration.

The agreements signal a coordinated platform that could shape negotiations for a national majority after the upcoming general election, with leaders Alberto Núñez Feijóo and Santiago Abascal indicating the need for clear, enforceable measures. Feijóo added, "Quiero que hablemos más de ideas que de siglas. Y que hablemos más de proyecto que de partidos."
