Spain's public debt reaches 99.7% of GDP
Spain's public debt has reached 99.7% of its GDP, following an increase of 5,618 million euros in August. Total debt is currently around 1.75 trillion euros and is approaching the 1.8 trillion euro mark.
Since Pedro Sánchez assumed office over seven years ago, the debt per inhabitant has increased by 11,892 euros. Analysis indicates that the total debt has grown by 592,248 million euros during this period, representing an average daily increase of approximately 196.5 million euros.
Economists warn that this growing financial burden compromises future public resources and the state's ability to fund essential services. While some indicators may appear to improve due to GDP growth, the absolute volume of debt continues to rise through future public income, refinancing, or new debt issuances.
