Spain's regional festivals highlight flamenco in Málaga and medieval celebrations in Estella-Lizarra

The Provincial Council of Málaga has released a cultural programme for the coming week, covering towns such as Torremolinos, Cuevas de San Marcos, Benaoján, Salares, Cuevas Bajas, Rincón de la Victoria, Cortes de la Frontera, Faraján, Comares, Colmenar and Alhaurín de la Torre. Events include musical performances, workshops, talks and exhibitions, with flamenco featured prominently. Notable acts include singer‑composer Aurora Guirado's "Canta a los Poetas Andaluces" in Villanueva de Tapia, pianist Diego Valdivia's sextet "Aromas del Sur" in the Festival Flamenco del Corcho Valle del Genal, the group Electroduendes at a benefit evening in Torremolinos, and dancers Antonio Guerra and Carrete de Málaga performing in Algarrobo.

At the same time, the town of Estella‑Lizarra in Navarre launched its 27th edition of the medieval week on 20 July. The week‑long festival presents music, dances and theatre inspired by the Middle Ages, with a photo gallery documenting the events.
