Spain’s summer festivals showcase regional gastronomy and culture
Across Spain, several towns are hosting summer festivals that combine local culinary traditions with cultural celebrations.
In Las Pedroñeras, the International Garlic Fair runs from 24‑26 July, featuring the XVI National Garlic Cooking Contest where six chefs compete for a €3,500 prize pool.
La Bañeza celebrates the 17th Day of the Bañezanas Comarcas on 25 July, gathering around thirty colourful pendón banners in a procession that highlights Leonese heritage.
Almería’s Macenas Blue Nights takes place on 23 July in Mojácar, with 19 gourmet companies from the provincial “Sabores Almería” brand presenting local products, live music and demonstrations.
Bornos in the Sierra de Cádiz holds its ninth Feria del Caracol from 29‑31 May, offering up to five thousand kilograms of snails, cabrilla and burgaos, alongside family‑friendly activities and concerts.
Albendín in Córdoba province hosts its 15th Jornada de la Huerta, aiming to serve more than 6,000 tapas across six participating establishments.
In Nerpio, the third Celtinerpio goat‑meat gastronomic days (22‑23 July) promote the native Blanca Celtibérica breed with a full‑menu tasting.
Preparations are also under way for Gijón’s Festival Aéreo on the San Lorenzo beach, with equipment installations and rehearsal schedules announced for the weekend ahead.
