Spain's regional governments approve 2027 labor calendars
Most autonomous communities in Spain have already approved their labor calendars and public holidays for 2027. Regional governments are finalizing these schedules ahead of the official state publication in the BOE to allow companies to organize staffing and vacation schedules in advance.
In Castilla y León, the regional government has approved 12 holidays, including national and regional dates. This schedule includes six long weekends (puentes) based on consecutive days off. Specific holidays include New Year's Day, Epiphany, Holy Week, and the Day of the Community.
Nationally, there are at least nine common holidays and four common long weekends expected. While the state sets the non-substitutable holidays, regions have the authority to complete the calendar up to 12 days and choose between certain dates, such as San José or Santiago Apóstol. Local municipalities will also add two specific local holidays to the schedule.
