Spain's road freight sector secures new collective agreements in León and Barcelona

Comisiones Obreras (CCOO) announced the signing of a new collective bargaining agreement for the road freight and logistics sector in the province of León. The pact, covering the 2026‑2028 period, provides a 4 % annual wage rise – a cumulative 12 % increase – and adds several bonuses, including a 7 % night‑shift premium, a €100 monthly driver allowance, an €80 loading‑unloading allowance, a €30 Sunday and holiday premium, and a 10 % uplift for overtime. The agreement is retroactive to 1 January 2026 for base wages, with the new bonuses effective from 1 July 2026, and also includes provisions for driver licence and CAP subsidies and improved temporary disability compensation.

In the province of Barcelona, the employer groups Transcalit and Uno together with the unions UGT and CCOO concluded a similar three‑year collective agreement. It stipulates wage increases of 3.5 % in 2026, 3.3 % in 2027 and 3.2 % in 2028, and includes a guarantee clause that will adjust salaries if cumulative inflation exceeds the agreed raises. The contract updates provisions on paid leave, retirement, gender equality, teleworking, weather‑related safety, LGTBI+ rights and sustainable mobility. It takes effect from 1 January 2026, pending official registration.
