Spain's RTVE shifts TV schedule as World Cup 2026 begins

RTVE's main channel La 1 will postpone the next episode of the drama series “La Promesa” to June 16, moving it back a day to avoid clashing with Spain’s debut match against Cape Verde at the opening of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

On the public broadcaster’s second channel, the quiz show “Cifras y Letras” will end its current season early on June 10, a week before the tournament starts. The program, hosted by Aitor Albizua, will return after the summer break, while La 2 will fill the slot with World Cup coverage and other programming.
