Spain's Share Festival and Monegros Desert Festival each draw record 60,000 attendees

The eighth edition of Share Festival took place on July 24‑25 at Barcelona’s Parc del Fòrum, selling out with 60,000 visitors, a new attendance record for the event. Heat on Friday caused performer Lola Índigo to faint, and a severe storm on Saturday forced the early cancellation of Dellafuente’s set for safety reasons, but the festival continued with a packed lineup across three stages.

In the desert near Fraga, the Monegros Desert Festival also reached a record crowd of about 60,000, drawing attendees from 96 nationalities. The three‑day program featured leading electronic‑music artists such as Richie Hawtin, Amelie Lens and others, and involved more than 3,000 staff, 400 companies, and extensive logistics. Organisers highlighted their environmental commitment, noting that over 90% of materials are reused and several zones run on fully renewable fuel.

Both festivals illustrate the scale and complexity of Spain’s summer music events, each achieving unprecedented attendance while managing weather‑related challenges and sustainability goals.
