Spain's Six Players Eligible for FIFA World Cup 2026 Best XI

FIFA has opened fan voting for the official Best XI of the 2026 World Cup, which was staged in the United States, Mexico and Canada. Only six Spanish players are on the shortlist: goalkeeper Unai Simón, defenders Pedro Porro and Marc Cucurella, midfielder Rodri (Rodrigo Hernández), winger Lamine Yamal and forward Mikel Oyarzabal.

The omission of central defenders Aymeric Laporte and Pau Cubarsí sparked discussion, as both featured heavily in Spain’s defence that conceded just one goal in seven matches, and Cubarsí was named FIFA’s best young player of the tournament.
