Spain's Summer Burger Festivals Attract Crowds in El Escorial and Illescas

The El Escorial Burger Fest took place on 27‑28 June in the Parque Lorenzo Fernández Panadero and nearby streets. Over a dozen food‑truck vendors from across Spain offered their burgers for public tasting and voting. The two‑day event also featured live music, a DJ set, a children's zone, a photocall, a sports‑car exhibition and a mechanical bull. Mayor Antonio Vicente inaugurated the festival.

From 24‑28 June, Illescas hosted The Burger Cup at the local fairground. The travelling gourmet‑burger competition gathered a selection of Spain’s most viral hamburger shops, offering free entry, live DJs, family activities and a pet‑friendly area. Attendees could sample burgers, scan QR codes to vote, and watch a prize ceremony. The event was supported by the Illescas city council and sponsors Amstel, Coca‑Cola and Just Eat.
