Spain's summer cultural program opens with film screenings in Valencia and Rubí

The municipality of Rubí in Catalonia has published its summer agenda, featuring a free outdoor screening of the film "Elio" on July 31, nightly astronomy observations, a welcome‑to‑summer music party on August 1, and a guided visit to the Monastery of Sant Cugat on the same day.

In Valencia, the Filmoteca d’Estiu inaugurated its 2026 season on July 31 with the premiere of "Una quinta portuguesa" (2025), written and directed by Valencian filmmaker Avelina Prat. The event was attended by regional culture secretary Marta Alonso, culture director Ignacio Prieto, and audiovisual director Luis Gosálbez, and highlighted the film’s award‑winning status at the Lola Gaos awards.
