Spain extends school camp initiatives in Melilla and Madrid

In Melilla, the English-language summer camp "Pop Summer" at CEIP Hipódromo concluded on Friday after hosting about one hundred children aged 6 to 12 from 6 July to 17 July. The closing ceremony was led by the city’s Education, Youth and Sports councilor, Miguel Ángel Fernández Bonnemaison, who emphasized the program’s role in providing extra educational opportunities during school holidays and supporting families.

In the Madrid region, the municipal government announced that the Nuestra Señora de la Paloma residence in Cercedilla will host school residential stays and environmental‑education activities throughout the year. The new schedule will include short‑term convivencias with overnight accommodation during October, November, early December and several periods from January to June, using the city’s three nature classrooms in Casa de Campo, Tres Cantos and Cercedilla. The programme will serve up to 460 students, including 48 with special educational needs, under a new management contract that covers catering, laundry and cleaning services.
