Spain's Summer Music Festivals Attract Full Houses and Expanded Venues
The Mar d'Estiu festival in Santa Susanna revamped its main auditorium to seat up to 2,400 attendees (3,200 in a hybrid format) and hosted a series of performances, including Italian rock star Zucchero celebrating the 25th anniversary of “Baila Morena,” as well as Catalan pop‑rock acts such as Gerard Quintana, Els Amics de les Arts and Ginestà.
The Estiuvers festival in Gandia moved its closing recital from the Galeria Dorada to the larger Patio de Armas of the Palau Ducal after all tickets sold out within 24 hours. The free‑access event featured Marc Granell, Sebastià Alzamora and Marina Alegre, who performed a piece based on Josep Piera’s “Mèl‑o‑drama.” The festival also offered guided tours of the Palau Ducal and intimate performances at the Cova del Parpalló and Castell de Bairén.
Both festivals reported overwhelming public interest, prompting organizers to expand venues and increase accessibility for a broader audience.
