Spain's summer theatre festivals showcase comedy and classic drama

A comedy production performed at Teatro Luchana received praise for its inventive staging and the performances of Bárbara Merlo and Samuel Vázquez under the direction of Denise Despeyroux. The show mixes magical moments with a contemporary storyline, reflecting the popularity of the original Argentine work across Spain.

Meanwhile, Pata Teatro presented a summer staging of Cyrano de Bergerac at the patio of Instituto Vicente Espinel, directed and adapted by Josémi Rodríguez with a cast that includes Antonio Chamizo and Sara Suárez. The open‑air performances run until 8 August, with tickets available online, highlighting the company’s aim to offer accessible, popular culture during the Malaga summer season.
