Mexico's Anti-Corruption Secretariat sanctions 13 public officials

The Secretaría de Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno announced administrative sanctions against 13 public servants from nine federal entities for non‑serious administrative violations. Penalties range from public and private reprimands to suspensions and disqualifications of up to three months. At Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), two staff members were suspended for 30 days for failing to process post‑mortem benefit payments. A Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) employee received a 15‑day suspension after submitting unauthorized procurement requests. An Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) doctor was barred for three months for neglect that contributed to a patient’s death. The Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (SEDENA) admonished a member of the 98th Infantry Battalion for incomplete clinical documentation. Additional suspensions were imposed on personnel of the Sistema Nacional para el Desarrollo Integral de la Familia, the Agencia Nacional de Aduanas, and the Administración del Sistema Portuario Nacional Manzanillo. The measures were taken under the Constitution of Mexico and the General Law on Administrative Responsibilities to strengthen legality, transparency and accountability in public service.
