Spain's Tejera Negra Forest Resists Summer Wildfires

In Spain's Castilla‑La Mancha, the Tejera Negra forest—an ecological jewel near the Sierra Norte natural park—has so far withstood the intense heat and fire fronts that have burned more than 32,000 hectares in the region. Local activist Alberto Mayor and forest engineer César Morales del Molino note that firebreaks and the forest's micro‑climate helped keep the flames at bay, but warn that repeated extreme heat could eventually overcome its resilience.
