Spain's top athletes and celebrities for summer beers revealed in Alpha Research poll

Alpha Research released its 2026 "Con quién te irías de cañas" study, asking Spaniards which public figures they would most like to share a beer with this summer. Nationally, tennis star Rafa Nadal topped the list of male athletes with 20 % of votes, followed by football legend Andrés Iniesta and MotoGP champion Marc Márquez at 14 % each. Other top athletes included Marc Cucurella (12.8 %), footballers Lamine Yamal, Marcos Llorente and Rodri Hernández, as well as tennis player Carlos Alcaraz and wrestler Ilia Topuria. Among women, tennis player Carolina Marín and other female athletes appeared in regional rankings.

In the autonomous community of Navarre, singer‑songwriter Rosalía was the most popular female figure (15 % of votes) and actor Javier Bardem led the male list (18.8 %). The Navarre poll also placed Marc Márquez as the favourite sportsperson, with Andrés Iniesta, Marc Cucurella, Carlos Alcaraz and Rafa Nadal completing the top five. The survey reflects the cultural link between beer drinking and socialising with celebrated athletes and entertainers in Spain.
