Spain's Top Tourist Villages Highlight Chinchón and Medieval Pedraza

A recent compilation of Spain’s most visited small towns lists 50 destinations that attract weekend travelers, with Chinchón in the Madrid region ranking first. Its popularity stems from easy access to the capital, a distinctive Plaza Mayor, a strong gastronomic scene and a compact historic centre that can be explored on foot.

Another guide focuses on Spain’s most impressive walled medieval villages, singling out Pedraza in the province of Segovia. The town, whose origins trace back to the 4th century BC, retains well‑preserved stone walls, a historic plaza and notable monuments. Since 2014 it has been part of the Association of the Most Beautiful Towns of Spain and was named the most beautiful town of Castile and León in 2019.
