Spain's Transport Ministry schedules sector conference in Madrid

The Spanish Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility announced a sector conference for 28 July in Madrid, led by minister Óscar Puente. The meeting will address the climate social plan, the regulatory development of the Sustainable Mobility Law and the single‑ticket programme. The ministry said the event fulfills its July commitment and expects participation from regions governed by the Partido Popular.

The conference follows a dispute with the Community of Madrid, which in June claimed the ministry was acting under a judicial mandate after a legal challenge by the government of Isabel Díaz Ayuso. Madrid plans to seek detailed information on regional investments, including the commuter‑rail plan labeled a “disaster”, state‑road projects crossing the region, medium‑distance and high‑speed rail developments, and the projected high‑speed link to Barajas airport.
