Spain's hotel sector records 5% price rise and record occupancy in first half of 2026
In the first six months of 2026, Spain's hotel market showed a notable rebound. The average daily rate (ADR) reached €163.4, up 4.9% from the same period a year earlier, while revenue per available room (RevPAR) rose to €121.2, a 5.6% increase. Overall occupancy averaged 74.1%, 0.7 percentage points higher than in H1 2025.
Valencia led the market with 91.2% occupancy and a 9.5% ADR jump. Alicante posted 83.3% occupancy and a 5.2% ADR gain, while Malaga recorded 80.5% occupancy. Barcelona’s ADR climbed to €195.5, 1.8% above the previous year, and Madrid’s ADR rose to €181.4, a 3.2% increase.
