Spain's Valencian Community and Lleida see decline in used car sales

In the Valencian Community, transfers of second‑hand vehicles dropped 8.2% in the first half of 2026 to 142,284 units, with June sales of about 19,000 cars 6% lower than a year earlier. Prices kept climbing, the average used car reaching €12,874, 2.8% higher YoY. Ancove president warned that “the increase in used‑car prices… is slowing market growth and could later affect new‑car sales.”

In the province of Lleida, 11,276 used cars were sold from January to June, 1.7% below the same period last year but 5.4% above 2024. June sales rose 8.1% to 2,046 units. Nationwide, used electric cars continued strong gains, with pure‑electric models up 45.3% and plug‑in hybrids up 49% in the first half of the year.
