Spain's video game industry exceeds 2,200 million euros

The video game industry in Spain is experiencing significant economic growth, generating over 2,200 million euros and engaging approximately 23 million players. This sector now represents 47.5% of the Spanish population. Employment within the industry grew by 12% in 2025, surpassing 11,000 professionals directly involved in development, production, and esports.

The workforce is notably young, with 90% of employees under the age of 45. Additionally, female representation in the sector has increased to 27%.

Regional hubs are expanding beyond Madrid and Barcelona. In Leganés, the company Meridiem was recently recognized as Best Publisher at the DeVuego Awards. Meanwhile, Valladolid is attempting to establish itself as a key industry reference through the Ultralan Gaming Festival, supported by local government and companies like Pentakill Studios to boost the city's professional and economic potential.
