Spain's Vox Party Demands Government Documents on Ceuta Migration Crisis and Proposes Educational Police

The right‑wing Vox party in Spain has launched a parliamentary offensive over the July 2024 migration surge that overwhelmed the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. Vox is demanding that Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares and National Intelligence Centre director Esperanza Casteleiro appear before the Congress Foreign Affairs Committee to explain the government's handling of the crisis, the contacts with Morocco, and any intelligence warnings. The party also seeks copies of communications, emails and official documents exchanged between Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, ministers and senior officials, as well as intelligence reports produced by the CNI before and during the events.

In parallel, Vox has floated a controversial proposal in the Valencian Community to create a new "educational police" force. The suggested body would monitor teachers, school materials and extracurricular activities, claiming to enforce "ideological neutrality" in classrooms. Critics argue the measure would amount to political policing of education.
