Spain's VOX party pushes deregulation and agricultural protection plan

VOX regional spokesperson met with José Luján, secretary‑general of the Confederación Regional de Organizaciones Empresariales de Murcia (CROEM), to present the party's "Programa de Desregulación". The initiative seeks to repeal what it calls unnecessary regulations, simplify administrative procedures and lower bureaucratic costs for companies, self‑employed workers and citizens, arguing that excessive rules are stalling wages, business growth and the purchasing power of Spaniards, especially in agriculture.

In a separate meeting in the Valencian Parliament, VOX agriculture spokesman Ricardo Chamorro gathered with party deputies and representatives of farmers' and primary‑sector associations. Participants discussed a European petition to give legal effect to the principle of Community Preference, tighter sanitary, phytosanitary and environmental standards for imports, and measures to protect Spanish agriculture, livestock and fisheries from perceived unfair competition. Chamorro reiterated the party's commitment to "strategic food sovereignty" and to defending the sector from the impact of EU‑wide regulations and third‑country imports.
