Spain's Vox presses for agriculture reforms in regional talks

Vox is pressing regional governments in Spain to adopt agricultural measures as part of its broader negotiation strategy for governing coalitions. In Andalusia, party spokesperson Manuel Gavira met with primary sector workers in Córdoba, urging that policies applied in other autonomous regions be extended to the south and warning that the sector is “getting worse.” Vox’s demands include less bureaucracy, freer production, and increased support for farmers and fishers.

At a separate event in Cuenca, Vox deputy Ricardo Chamorro denounced the “failure of bipartisanship” and linked rural depopulation to the EU Green Deal and rising fertilizer costs. He called for national prioritisation of the countryside, protection for Spanish and European workers, and measures to counter perceived unfair imports, framing the party’s rural agenda as a core element of Spain’s cohesion.
