Andalusia coalition negotiations between PP and Vox stall as PSOE refuses support

President of the Andalusian regional government Juanma Moreno (PP) is seeking an investiture but lacks a parliamentary majority. He needs the 15 Vox deputies to reach the required votes, while the deadline to propose a candidate is 29 June.

Vox officials, including secretary‑general Ignacio Garriga and eurodeputy Jorge Buxadé, say the party is focusing on policy measures rather than seats and urges “discretion and prudence” in talks with the PP. They have not confirmed whether they will request a place in the regional cabinet, stressing instead that any eventual agreement must first outline a clear policy roadmap.

The PSOE’s regional secretary‑general María Jesús Montero stated that her party will not contribute “actively nor passively” to Moreno’s investiture, accusing the PP of trying to force a coalition without reciprocity. She warned that the lack of a governing agreement threatens Andalusia’s governance, especially in critical areas such as health.

Negotiations remain confidential, with both sides reporting “no news” on concrete dates for the parliamentary plenary. The discussion also includes the contentious “priority national” agenda promoted by Vox, which the PP must decide whether to adopt.

The stalemate continues as the June 29 deadline approaches, and the outcome will determine whether the PP can form a government with Vox’s support or whether a new political deadlock will emerge in Andalusia.
