The Spanish national team spent a day off in Chattanooga, Tennessee, before resuming training for the 2026 World Cup. Players took part in activities such as golf, shopping, a river cruise and a pool visit. Forward Lamine Yamal returned to the team hotel just five minutes before the 21:00 deadline, narrowly escaping a €2,000 fine imposed by the Spanish federation for late arrivals.

Striker Borja Iglesias was briefly stopped by security at the hotel entrance and had to confirm his identity before being admitted. Mid‑fielder Marc Cucurella said the 0‑0 draw with Cape Verde was a useful wake‑up call, while teammate Mikel Merino praised the squad’s work and urged a decisive win against Saudi Arabia in the next match. Dani Olmo expressed confidence the team can overcome the setback and emphasized the need to take risks against the upcoming opponent.
