Spain’s Bono Cultural Joven receives over 202,000 applications in first month
The Ministry of Culture’s Bono Cultural Joven 2026 programme, which grants €400 to each Spaniard turning 18 in 2026, recorded more than 202,000 applications within its first month of opening. The grant, now usable for live arts, cultural heritage, digital subscriptions, musical instruments and artistic materials, offers two spending modalities: a split of up to €200 for live‑art and heritage, €100 for physical cultural products and €100 for digital services, or the option to allocate the full €400 to a single category.
Regional uptake is strong: over 33,000 Madrid‑area youths have applied, more than 9,500 in the Canary Islands, over 400 in Ceuta, and around 10,000 in Castilla‑La Mancha. The deadline for applications is 31 October, and successful applicants will receive a prepaid card usable at roughly 4,000 participating cultural providers across Spain.
