Spanish actors Moncunill and Sacristán present new solo stage works

Spanish actors Mireia Moncunill and José Sacristán are presenting new solo stage works.

Mireia Moncunill will perform ‘Fora de quadre’ at the Ateneu d’Igualada on October 3. Directed by Pep Farrés, the monologue uses documentary theatre and autofiction to explore family identity, memory, and heritage through personal photographs. The production features an immersive sound design by Biel Serena Riba.

At the Teatre Romea, José Sacristán is directing and performing ‘El hijo de la cómica,’ a monologue based on the childhood and youth memories of his mentor, Fernando Fernán Gómez. Sacristán, who recently turned 89, describes the project as his most personal work, involving the writing of the text and the portrayal of 15 different characters. He noted that he will continue to perform as long as it remains enjoyable.
