Spanish agrifood cooperatives prioritize professional training and technical expertise

Agrifood cooperatives in Spain are focusing on professionalization and technical training to enhance competitiveness and sustainability.

In Granada, Cooperativas Agroalimentarias de Granada (FAECA) has launched a new high-level training program for governing councils titled ‘Leadership and people management to boost the cooperative project’. Funded by Caja Rural Granada and developed with the Escuela Internacional de Gerencia, the program aims to equip leaders with tools for strategic decision-making, innovation, and human resource management to navigate economic and technological changes.

Simultaneously, in Albacete, the Convention of Technicians of Agrifood Cooperatives of Spain and Castilla-La Mancha is being held. Regional officials emphasized the vital role of cooperative technicians in advancing competitive and sustainable agriculture and livestock farming. The convention serves as a platform for approximately 150 technical professionals from across Spain to exchange experiences and update knowledge on sector challenges, including agricultural insurance and operational efficiency.
