Catalonia reaches record 9,801 foreign subsidiaries
Catalonia has reached a record 9,801 foreign company subsidiaries, according to a study by ACCIÓ. These multinationals have grown by 40% over the last decade and now account for over 26% of regional employment, one-third of business volume, and nearly half of exports.
In the aviation sector, Argentina reported a record 4,186,500 air passengers in September, a 15% increase compared to 2024. This growth was driven by international travel, which saw its highest September volume in history. Additionally, international connectivity from Argentina's interior provinces has expanded significantly.
In Spain, air travel trends show varied results. Catalonia saw a 3.1% increase in international passengers in September, with El Prat airport ranking as a leader in low-cost carrier traffic. Meanwhile, the Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández airport recorded nearly nine million travelers during the summer season, an 11.13% increase over 2025. Conversely, the Canary Islands experienced a 1.3% decrease in international passengers during the same month.
