Spanish airports seek new routes at Routes World 2026

Castellón Airport, managed by Aerocas, is participating in the Routes World 2026 event in Frankfurt to strengthen its international connectivity. The delegation, led by General Manager Raquel París, is conducting approximately twenty strategic meetings with airlines and industry operators to expand its network and position the airport as a strategic European aviation hub.

A key focus for Castellón is a partnership with Memmingen Airport in Germany to promote a new route scheduled to be operated by Ryanair starting March 31, 2027.

In a separate effort, officials from Vigo are also attending the Frankfurt summit to promote air connectivity. The city intends to secure and stabilize flights to destinations including London, Paris, Alicante, and Seville. To support this, the Vigo City Council plans to include dedicated funding in its 2027 budget for a public tender aimed at tourism promotion linked to these air connections, despite a lack of co-financing from regional authorities.
