Spanish athletes compete at European Athletics Championships in Birmingham

Meanwhile, middle-distance runner Marta Mitjans, aged 19, has advanced to the 800m semifinals with a time of 1:58.52, setting a new Spanish U23 record.

In track events, María Forero is set to compete in the 5,000m final against top European specialists. In the sprints, Maribel Pérez finished fifth in the 100m semifinals with a time of 11.31 seconds, narrowly missing the final.
