Spanish athletes compete at World Skate Games in Asunción

Spanish athletes achieved significant success at the World Skate Games in Asunción, Paraguay, particularly in inline alpine disciplines. Marcos Arias secured a gold medal in the junior combined event, marking his first world title in this category. Fellow Spanish competitors Sergio Menéndez won the senior giant slalom world championship, while Sofía Álvarez del Pozo earned two silver and two bronze medals.

In roller hockey, the Spanish national team finished in fourth place after losing the bronze medal match to Portugal with a score of 3-5. This follows a semifinal loss to Argentina in a penalty shootout. The result marks a rare instance where the team, which holds 18 world titles, finished outside the top three.
